Little Peter Elias is our sweet, serious, calm new buddy. We are grateful for the love that he inspires in all of us. Myna loves to hold and kiss this little man, and Milo loves to talk to "little guy" and inform the rest of us what the baby is thinking (ie. "the baby is like, 'I want to swing up in that tree.'" Peter Eliaas has always felt as if he was a part of our family - even before birth because the kids spoke of him so much and the pregnancy was so apparent in our lives. His name is special because I had a hard time feeling like I knew my baby's personality while I was pregnant, but about a month before his birth, I really felt like he should be named after Peter in some way. And, I think he is a lot like Pete. So, I guess I did know him more than I thought. Peter Elias' concentrates intensely and does not like to be disturbed or moved before he finishes whatever he is doing. He prefers to be on his back and loves when mommy lets him play without a diaper (or clothes!) on. It's fun to watch him hear a new voice, for he has a special expression that indicates this discovery. If he is placed on his tummy, he usually just find his hand to suck or lays there until he's had enough - it might be awhile before he rolls from tummy to back. During the day he loved to snooze and be held, but he is ready for bed around 8:00pm every night, so he is absolved a bit. He cries when put in the car seat and doesn't simply fall asleep during drives. He will be absolutely silent for 20 minutes in the car, and I will go to get him out and find him staring out the window. I imagine he might be a dreamer like his daddy and be content with his thoughts. He is a special baby that loves to snuggly with mommy. Oh, how I love his little guy.
