We are ready for you! My little brother Milo and I have been really busy hanging up lights,

getting the tree ready,

testing out the decorations for Christmas-yet-to-come durability,

making my Mom's Nutcracker genes proud,

practicing our smiles and writing letters to Santa.

Even Dad is ready! Come on in to stay for awhile!

Merry Christmas Everybody, from our little home to yours!

Myna's Song

Today as we were going downstairs Myna sang the following song:

shhhh, shhhh, shhhh, shhhh, mamamama, no no no, no no no, no no no.

Pete tells me that those are just her favorite words and that I am not being lyricized as the no-no machine.

Just FYI, Myna's speaking repertoire includes mailbox, clock, hot, no, baby, shhh, mama, dada, mmmmmmm, bb (binky), bottle. That's it for now. Tomorrow always holds surprises though :)

"Little" Milo

Mr. Man, Your smiles have stolen all our hearts the past few weeks. You just love to be talked to and looked at, but even more than that, you love to talk! You've been a noisy little guy from the beginning, and you still are. You make noise non-stop. You want to stand up always unless Mommy is holding you over the shoulder that you like to suck on. Thankfully, you are easy-going and take a bottle and entertain yourself pretty well. You think clapping is pretty fun when we help you. You have a jinglebell that you can hold and smile when it makes noise. You love to watch Myna. You sleep in your own room as of this week. Yesterday, you had your first session in the exersaucer and loved it. We think you'll be a trusting guy. We know you'll be a cute one. You are a solid one weighing in at 14 lbs. 5 oz. at two months. We love every bit of you! And, one of the whole family :)

Oh my Myna girl, the last few nights have been spent watching you push anything that might possibly support your weight over to anything that might possibly be interesting to reach. You climb, climb, climb and dance, dance, dance. I love that you hear music in everything. You dance to the dishwasher's beat or my singing. You've been mimicking the last week or so Myna-bird. When Milo cries out, "Ahhh," you say, "ahhhh, ahhh, ahhh." Each day, you love Milo more and more. You really held him yesterday (you had climbed into the baby swing and Mommy put him in your arms), and now you want to all the time. Yesterday, you came up to him and grabbed his hands to dance and rock with him. You tell him things in a sweet, sing-song voice that's especially for him. You practice saying "no, no, no, no" this week :) No matter what question we ask, you say "no," but if you don't answer, you mean yes normally. No matter what food we try to feed you, you cring like you couldn't be more disgusted, then you gulp it down the second time we try. You've been saying "Myna." You are a Myna - it's your name. You love to read. You also love to sit inbetween Mommy's legs and force your way there all day. Mommy loves it. Your antics and smile and sweetness make us laugh all day long. We are so happy together. You always will give Daddy things when he asks you to, but you won't give them to Mommy. Today's example: a screwdriver. Mommy has had to do many projects during your nap because all screwdrivers belong in your hands unless Daddy wants them. You spent 40 minutes "fixing" you mobile the other day while Mommy waited patiently for her turn. Yes, you're so very much a curious toddler - it's so fun to watch. Thanks for the kisses and wanting my to tickle your back and feeding me your popsicle and for loving to play with me. Nothing in the world makes me smile the way you do. Love you Myna girl!

Growning Like the Dandelions in the Yard

Mi Mi (as Big Sister Myna calls him) made it to the one month mark and is feeling pretty pumped about it. He and Peter Rabbit celebrated in style on the carpet that Pete and I have decided should not be replaced with any carpet of value until after all Bontorno children have reached the age of accountability for bodily functions.

Milo's a calm. sweet boy that gets kissed approximately 746 times a day between Mommy and Big Sister. He's smiling and kicking and growing up way faster than Mommy remembers Myna growing. Speaking of the little Miss Grown up, here she is in her glory. This is one of apporximately 746 activities she gets completely engrossed in each day.
Mr. Milo is so tall. We might have a basketball team in the making here folks.
See, Myna's already trying on shoes for Team Bontorno.
And, here she is doing . . . well, I'm not exactly sure. One day, when she learns to talk, I'll ask her. I have a lot of questions to ask Miss Myna.
And, our piano offered to take a picture of Milo and Mommy since we don't get to be in pictures together too often. This also shows off Milo's blond hair and the fabulous painting Pete's brother Nick created for us - we love both things!

Our Eternal Family

Hi, I'm Milo. It's been a busy life these past five days - so much to do, so many people to love, so many fingers to hold. Naps to take.
Grandpas to make proud.
Sisters to play with. I brought her a new toy home from the hospital. I love her, and she loves to "pat" me like Mommy does, show Mommy and Daddy where I am, give me kisses and put blankets on top of me . . . don't worry, Mommy and Daddy mediate all our affairs (and take the blankets off of my head).
Mommies to snuggle. I am a great snuggler.

I'm sweet and calm and a great snorter. I love to stretch and be on my tummy - or better yet, be curled up on someone's chest. So, far that's me!

100th Post

Despite my parents inability to capture my true ever-smiley self, they definitely score points for caturing my stunning style. And, let me tell you - rain boots (or Winnie the Pooh sneakers) are the new black dress in this toddler's humble opinion.
I've also been trying out new hair arrangements.
In between fashion engagements, I love to take my parents and lovely neighborhood gaggle of girls on walks. Last week, the snow was so solidified that Daddy, Mommy+, and I walked around atop the two feet to 6 feet of snow that remains in our yard. It was awesome. I especially liked the part where my almost full term pregnant mother pretended she was a dear and tried to frolic gracefully across the snow.
My mom especially likes when she finds me doing super cute things like stealing cookies from Daddy's cookie jar and finding a cozy and somewhat very conspicuous spot to nosh on them. or finding me hiding from chores . . . or practicing my piano skills (or was that balancing skills)?!? Here is the best picture we got (out of many) of our St. Patrick's day green eggs and grits and ham celebration. Mommy just spilled some green grits on Daddy - it was an exciting and yummy photo shoot attempt.

And, one last shot to remember me by this week.
