5 Months

Peter Elias is a big 5 month old today. To celebrate, he scooted himself on his back in a complete circle in less than 25 seconds. He just started trying to reach over his body in an attempt to roll last week. He does however sit unassisted for 15-20 seconds until he gets too distracted by the exciting things that are constantly going on around him.

He still "talks" constantly - and by talks, I mean yells. His brother an sister have taken to calling him "Boo Boo" - condolences in the form or rice cereal covered spoons or binkies are accepted. His sleeping regressed the last month until he began eating actual food. Now, we are getting up 1 or 2 times a night. Better, but still more than we were two months ago . . .

Peter Elias is jovial and constantly smiling his big old unabashed grin. He loves my female friends with big, dark eyes and stares and coos at them adoringly. He loves his exersaucer still, and can be seen letting go to try and balance standing up on his own. He now looks over the edge when a toy is dropped. Walking (assisted, of course) across a room is a delight!

This sweet baby awakens cooing and smiling, so I love to walk in and visit with him before he gets up. Myna usually beats me to it during the day though. She takes the time to converse with him, and he loves listening to her. He loves playing with Milo and seems very interested in Milo's vehicles. The future looks bright for Milo's playtime.

We are grateful for our easy-going, happy and important baby - what a sweet part of our family.

3 Months

At three months, I am 10% above the charts for height and weight, and the physician asked Mommy if she was feeding me anything other than milk. I had a week of sleeping 10 hours straight and now still sleep 8 hours . . . Mommy loves that! I wake up with grand smiles and bright eyes for the person who comes to my bassinet-side. I love to smile for my sister Myna though her affection is usually a bit too close for me. Milo is the most fun to watch, and he talks to me in this super-high, squeaky voice that stuns all around him. I'm so glad when Daddy comes home; I smile and smile. I am the most responsive baby to other people. I don't mind being held by non-family members, but I most assuredly prefer Mommy's arms to fall asleep in.

I am a happy, flexible baby. I trekked a pumpkin farm and went apple picking this month. I also took two trips: one to Elmira to visit Grandpa Al and Grandma Eileen, and one to Ho Ho Kus, NJ to go trick-or-treating with my cousins. I love to stand and still love baths. I bathe every night. I grab and suck anything I can. I love to suck on Mommy's shoulder as she works around the kitchen. I giggle and am super ticklish under my chin and on my collarbone. I got my first shots and screamed for four hours later that day :(

I love to play and just started playing in an exersaucer. Mommy thinks I'm growing too fast, but she sure loves me each and every day.
